MonTrell (00:00)
Hello, BB Universe. Welcome to Zing, the Big Brother podcast. The place where expecting the unexpected meets unfiltered hot takes and where representation matters the most. I'm your co-host, MonTrell.
Brandi (00:04)
Zing!
And I'm your co-host Brandi and we are the Auntie-Nephew duo. didn't know you needed. Cheers. And this is the show where we recap, react and deep dive into this season of BB27, their strategy, gameplay and so much more.
MonTrell (00:25)
Cheers.
I'm the nephew.
Brandi (00:37)
And I'm the aunt but who's MonTrell?
MonTrell (00:39)
Well, I am born and raised from the heart of Houston, Texas, and currently the pulse of Washington, D.C. I am a multi-hyphenate Southern gentleman and jack of all trades. Beyond day-to-day work in cybersecurity, I'm also entertaining audiences as a professional actor and model. And there's so much more to me than what meets the eye. And that's just the start. I'm also an athlete with a knack for everything from cooking to music.
And on my off days, you'll find me traveling the world. And that's just a little bit about me. Now, tell me, who is Brandi?
Brandi (01:15)
Hey, BB World, I'm Brandi, a mother to three amazing kids and a royal housewife to my husband four years. I am a foodie by day and a binge queen by night. And I have an opinion on everything. I'm a professional Mrs. Get It Done, rooted in family and faith. Ultimately, the dream is to travel the world and spread my experience, ideas, love of music, media, and food, and leave my mark just being me.
MonTrell (01:41)
Okay, so a few fun facts about us. So my full name is Montrell Nelson Jr. And so as a kid, my childhood nickname was always TJ, which is short for Trail Jr. So whenever you hear Brandy like, TJ this and TJ that, you're like, who? Yeah, she's talking about me. But I go by Montrell for the most part. And so another fun fact is that I actually was an applicant for this season of Big Brother.
both in person and online. And I guess you can see how that worked out. But, you know what? It's alright. Because I still have some skin in the game. And that is this podcast. Zing!
Brandi (02:21)
And so fun fact about me, Sheree from Survivor Traders in season 25 of Big Brother actually made me a video to shout me out and I keep it on my phone and watch it weekly. So actually I've had big dreams of going to Big Brother for some time and even going to Big Brother with TJ. But until I get there, I get my fix on spoilers and I'm a self-proclaimed life eater.
MonTrell (02:33)
You
she is and I'm not. So you'll see the difference in some of our opinions might come from that. And hopefully she'll be able to put us traditional viewers onto some new knowledge. Okay, so on the fly question, you ready? Give me your guilty pleasure. Go.
Brandi (03:01)
I'm ready.
True crying. So for me, take me on a walk, treat me to some pho, and then bring me home and let's watch a true crime show together. I'm good.
MonTrell (03:12)
egg.
Brandi (03:13)
Okay, so what's your guilty pleasure?
MonTrell (03:15)
Okay, so mine would have to be reality TV. I'm talking Big Brother Survivor, Traders, Housewives, ⁓ Zeus Network, like the whole shebang. Reality is... I don't discriminate. All reality TV does stimulate something to me. ⁓ that's, it's, I'm here for the mess. I am. And so we've seen...
Brandi (03:26)
Not Zeus!
You
MonTrell (03:43)
Big Brother go from strategy-based to straight-up messy. And we're both here for it all.
Brandi (03:50)
So what's our goal of this podcast? So what's our goal for this podcast? It's simple. We are giving you weekly rundowns, real reactions, and the kind of commentary that you will only get at the cookout. No pun intended.
MonTrell (04:04)
Facts. We are talking about who's playing the game, who's playing themselves, and who's getting played period.
Brandi (04:12)
So between the drama, the comps, and the fake crying in the diary room, we are going to keep it real funny and maybe just a little bit petty. But most importantly, we're going to say the quiet part out loud.
MonTrell (04:24)
So look, let's jump right into judging a book by its cover. Cheers to that. Let's get started.
Brandi (04:33)
Cheers.
MonTrell (04:34)
Okay, so let's get into first impressions of this BB27 cast. They just released it and so we have each of them laid out. When you saw them, what were your thoughts?
Brandi (04:52)
I felt it was very Big Brother. ⁓ They have the jocks, they have the beauties, they have the older people, they have the nerds. And so I feel like Big Brother is very good about collectively pulling different people together. So.
I think that the cast is a really pretty cast. But I just felt like it was very on brand for them. It was, they got a little bit of everybody. Yeah, what are your thoughts?
MonTrell (05:24)
Yep, which they always do.
They always do exactly that. They get one of everything. Like he said, one of everything. No two people are alike, not the black people, not the white people. Even down to getting like a real just out there character. I know there are a couple of out there characters.
Brandi (05:31)
Absolutely.
MonTrell (05:47)
from small towns who probably have never even seen a, like, yeah.
Brandi (05:54)
Yeah, I agree. And so it's so funny that you segue to that small town. Let's start it off by talking about Miss Kelly. What was your thoughts on her?
MonTrell (05:55)
But I think...
I honestly didn't, I don't know. I think she's one of the ones that I don't have an opinion on. I think she's like, she's one of the nerds. I think she's gonna be really quirky, really like quiet maybe. And I'm like, okay, I don't know. Cause maybe, you know, I don't put nothing past nobody. Like she could surprise us. She could be like, I'm from a small town, but this small towner.
Brandi (06:09)
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
MonTrell (06:32)
This small town girl has a bite or something like I feel like I don't know. I don't know. And her picture gives like sweet and innocent. And every time it gives that. Watch out. Yeah.
Brandi (06:35)
Hahaha!
Yeah, I agree. I
so with Kelly, I'm a little 50 50. I was really intrigued by the fact that there are 50 people in her town that she has never left home. So I feel like people like that, they can really come in the game with something to prove and then they can really just do it right. But she doesn't have a lot of experience with different people either. So socially.
she could be a life bomb in that house, right? Like not being, not living with men before, not living with the other race, not living with people who don't share your sexuality, like all of that kind of stuff. ⁓ So I think I'm 50 50 with her, but I'm super excited to see ⁓ what she does, if she does anything, because I also feel like she totally could be a floater. Yeah.
MonTrell (07:11)
Mm-hmm.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Absolutely. And she has that look of like, floater look.
That's why like, I don't want to have any opinion. Like, I want you to prove that you're a floater. I don't want to just call you one. Because like, you know, surprise me. And she might have that factor of like, surprise me. ⁓ But, speaking of surprise...
Brandi (07:46)
Yeah. Gotcha.
MonTrell (07:53)
How do you feel about, or what was your first impression of Ashley?
Brandi (07:59)
you know, I was, Ashley's very own brand too. Let's just be real. Ashley is a pretty girl. Ashley is a, you know, she's pretty, she's black. I'm a root for everybody black, period, right? However, I also feel like, ⁓ I just hope she goes in there and she plays a good game. I'm really indifferent about her. I feel like it could go either way, but I hope that she goes in there.
and she's not ditzy or she's not... ⁓
I just don't want her to be ditzy. I want her to have some kind of like game smarts about her so she could go far.
MonTrell (08:36)
Yeah.
Like I want her to get, I agree, I agree. I want her to give a little bit Chelsea-esque, like Chelsea-esque, like not necessarily personality or anything like that, but just like have the Chelsea underlying gameplay in that pretty face, you know? Like not just, I'm here to play the game, I'm here to find a boyfriend. Like I don't want that, I don't want
Brandi (08:44)
Mmm.
Yeah.
And it's funny that you say Chelsea because the first person that I thought like it wasn't Chelsea, it was Taylor. Like I Taylor bombshell Taylor, right? She came in and she killed it. Like she was a she was always on the block. ⁓ But she always got off the block and she won. So I would totally want to see I feel like they would look at Ashley and be like, yeah, let her let's make her a permanent pawn.
MonTrell (09:05)
Okay.
Right. Right.
Brandi (09:26)
And then she comes back and she wins HOA, she wins vetoes, she wins everything, you know? So I have high hopes for her.
MonTrell (09:29)
huh.
Yeah, I believe that.
So what's funny is I actually saw her picture and I said, this is the first twist. I was like, hold on, this is the first twist because tell me she does not look like BB20... What is it? BB25, the cookout. Tell me she does not look like Hannah from the cookout.
Brandi (09:54)
Ugh, okay.
MonTrell (09:58)
She looked like she could be her sister, her little sister at that. So I looked at her and I said, first twist, but I was like, they look too much alike. Like the cast is gonna know that she's her sister. Like, no, big brother, you're supposed to find a sibling that doesn't look like the person. you know how you were like, you know how, you know how like they do bring things back from other seasons. Just like with Saree and with Jared.
Brandi (10:22)
huh. huh.
MonTrell (10:25)
The son and mother duo that came in and secretly I swore that Ashley was going to be her sister. I really, really did.
Brandi (10:37)
You know what? You know what? Now that you say it, I can't unsee it. They do look alike. They look like they could be. even if I don't say sisters, they're first cousins. Like they're going to be first cousins. They are. But you're right. They look exactly alike. Not exactly, but they look similar. OK, so since you brought up Ashley, we have to move into our girl.
MonTrell (10:49)
There's There's something. Yeah.
Yeah.
Brandi (11:04)
Mickey so I say our girl which kind of gives it away. I love you so Mickey. I love me so I Do I she is giving she is giving Tiffany from the cookout she is giving like Davon, you know, she she's giving like she's giving baby now, okay
MonTrell (11:11)
I did too, sorry.
Yes.
Yes! ⁓ Devon!
Brandi (11:31)
Let me not go, let's not, let's not be off. Cause I was about to say, let's go there. But I feel like Mickey is so pretty. She is again, I'm rooting for her day one and I want her to do well. But again, I want her to come in here and I want her to strategically like,
MonTrell (11:33)
Right. Right.
Brandi (11:55)
not get so immersed that first week like everybody does and try to like take a step back and like literally gay plan right like chess like I I need to be cool with this person I might need to talk to this person a little bit more or whatever the case may be I want her to be on her game day one.
MonTrell (12:12)
I want, yeah, watch the mics run and watch and literally take notes and then start playing from day one, but start really, really playing later. Cause I feel like she won't have to play soon. And a lot of, get, this is any big brother player, we get excited and we're like, I want to win first HOH or I don't want to win first POV whole time they are targeting me. Like, I don't know.
Brandi (12:15)
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
MonTrell (12:39)
Play the roles the right way. That's the only thing I'm hard to do. speaking of playing, I feel like that was the only segue to who is the Dungeon Master, Keanu, thoughts about him.
Brandi (12:45)
Absolutely.
Okay.
Ugh. Ugh.
But first thoughts is I was just like, of course, I mean, he's a pretty man. ⁓ He's a lot of muscle. But when he said dungeon master, I was like, like, here's the thing, I get his story. get his, I get his story. makes sense.
But I'm not, I'm not moved. I honestly think like, be told, I think he's gonna bring drama. I think he is going to start mess. I think he is going to play a game that, ⁓ like he's gonna walk in there thinking like, okay, I got these competitions. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know if it's cockiness or if it's gonna be arrogance.
MonTrell (13:20)
I'm going to move backwards.
Mm-hmm.
Brandi (13:45)
I know, I feel like he's gonna feel like he has these wins in the hole and yeah, yeah, and he won't.
MonTrell (13:50)
He won't.
Maybe he won't. And that's Big Brother. You come in thinking, oh I got this. Or like, look at me and look at them. And then they beat you week one, they beat you week two, they you week three, they beat you week four, you go on the block week five and then you're like, okay, I guess I don't really got it like that. And then that's when they go into the professional, or the diary room, and then they'll be like, this game is a lot harder than it looks on TV. Like yeah.
Brandi (13:58)
Right.
Right.
MonTrell (14:14)
Really you don't say like come on
Brandi (14:16)
Right? And you know what? I can totally see, I can totally see him walking in there being super confident and like, I'm going to give my little girl some like credit and him going up against someone like Kelly, he's like, yeah, I got this in the bag.
And then Kelly whoops him week after week after week. And then he's like, something's not right. But you know what I'm saying? It's just that inflated muscles that that made you think that way in the first place.
MonTrell (14:43)
Yeah, yeah. I agree. And speaking of muscle, I feel like the only way to go from there is to speak on Zay. I think he's the other kind of meathead that kind of walked in and we're supposed to expect him to win or he probably expects himself to win. At least that's my first impression of him. And...
I don't have good vibes. I don't have good vibes. I think he's gonna come in. I think he's gonna come in with the same mentality you were talking about. We're like, ⁓ I got this. And then on top of that, I think he'll also be trying to be a showman or do some type of...
Brandi (15:09)
Mm-mm.
MonTrell (15:25)
⁓ I wanna pick my girl for the season. Like, I like her and I like her and I like her. And you know there are pretty girls this season. So, I think he'll try to do both of those and flop.
Brandi (15:35)
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie judging a book by its cover. I judged. I judged pretty heavy. I judged. Yeah, and I don't want to the book. It can stay on the shelf. No, I just didn't get a goodbye from him. I think he's again going to be like you said, one of those like, oh, I got this in the bag kind of thing. And I also feel like he's going to get in the house and try to make waves super fast.
MonTrell (15:40)
I tried. I tried today. And I didn't read the book. I didn't read the book.
Brandi (16:02)
⁓ he just looks the type, you know what I'm saying? So, ⁓ so yeah, that's, that's all I have on that. Okay, so wait, wait, since we're keeping in the the the line of the guys, what about Zach?
MonTrell (16:05)
and
Okay.
Zach gives... So, so do you remember Derek? He was not the police officer Derek, the Asian Derek. Yes, they're still together everybody. You know that? Amazing place together, yes. Zach reminds me of, think... Derek did well, but I think Zach...
Brandi (16:24)
Yeah.
Yeah, the one with Claire.
Yes, and they were on, what was it? Amazing Race. Yeah, I follow them on social media still.
Yeah.
MonTrell (16:45)
will do better. And I think Zach, not because they're Asian, by the way. But I think they're built the same. I think they both have that tall, slender, slim look. And I think Zach has, he looks like he has the charisma that Derek never had, but he still made it kind of far. So I think Zach, I have my hopes out for Zach, honestly.
Brandi (16:50)
HAHAHAHA
Mmm.
Okay, okay, I see it. So first impressions, you know who he reminded me of? Remember the guy, the Asian, funny enough that you said Derek, the Asian guy from last year? He went home, think like week two, I forget his name, I forgot his name. ⁓
MonTrell (17:26)
Week?
Last season you say?
Brandi (17:29)
Yeah, and he got into it with Angela. Remember Angela liked him. Anyway, him, whatever his name is.
MonTrell (17:37)
he went home first you're talking about Matt
Brandi (17:39)
Yes. Okay,
does it Matt and Zach remind you of each other?
MonTrell (17:45)
No!
Brandi (17:46)
Okay, I was like, okay, so how you how you thought about Ashley and Hannah, right? I was like, they're related. He was a pretty guy who didn't get much far last season. So they're gonna bring back one of his family members this season. And so I was just like, Yeah, but no, I, I don't. She did.
MonTrell (17:51)
huh.
Okay, okay, okay.
She called that man crazy eyes. I said.
Brandi (18:10)
So I hope he doesn't have any kind of experience like that this season. But I think he's going to be a good competitor. I think he might get into a show man's because he's pretty. ⁓ But I don't know. We'll see. Because with those type of players, they can go either way. They're either going to go on their looks or they're going to go on strategy. And I hope he finds like a good mixture of both.
MonTrell (18:15)
Hope not.
I
Hmm.
Right.
Yeah, I agree. I agree. And sometimes they come in thinking they're going to do looks, strategy, or from bronze. And then it turns out to be none of the above and they go home. So like, I'm looking out. Like I said, I'm out hope for him. ⁓ But I think the only other person that really fits that same-ish kind of like stereotype may be Riley, the cowboy. What do you think?
Brandi (18:45)
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
⁓ yeah.
I'm not a fan.
MonTrell (19:04)
No.
Brandi (19:04)
I am not a fan of Riley and I don't know what it is. ⁓ I know he is our neighbor coming from Oklahoma, but I just, I couldn't get a good read on him. I don't know if he's gonna be here to play, if he's gonna be here to float or to find love. So I guess we'll just have to see, but I just have no thoughts.
MonTrell (19:09)
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
I agree, I'm very indifferent about him as well. And I actually think like, he looks like he might be one of those people that are like, I miss home, I'm ready to go. And like, I don't wanna say that about somebody just cause that's how it looks, but like, he might wanna go back to his farm. Like, he got to feed the chickens. And so you know what?
Brandi (19:40)
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
MonTrell (19:51)
Hey, I mean, he don't feed chickens, he rides bulls. He might want to go back to riding bulls. And you know, we just have to see. We really will.
Brandi (19:57)
Right.
Yeah, but since we're talking about neighbors, let's talk about our other next door neighbor, Adrian from San Antonio. Yeah, yeah, yeah, straight down the highway. I I am rooting for him. I don't know if I'm rooting for him because he's from San Antonio or because he's so cute, because he is such a nerd who you can tell is trying to be cool, but you could tell he has strategy. And so
MonTrell (20:08)
Hey, Nathanael,
Mm-hmm.
Brandi (20:30)
You know, that puts me in the mind frame of everybody from other seasons. Like, it's always that one smart nerd that really does well. ⁓ And of course I draw a blank, but the curly hair guy from last season. Do you remember him?
MonTrell (20:38)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Always.
curly haired guy from last season, Quinn.
Brandi (20:50)
puts me in the mind for McQueen. And yeah.
MonTrell (20:52)
And so I
was gonna say what, Michael?
Brandi (20:58)
Mmm. Okay. That's a good one.
MonTrell (20:59)
That was another example of a nerd that came and you
didn't expect much but then he's whore damn- ⁓
Brandi (21:06)
Baby, let me tell you, he
goes down as one of the top 10 BB players because he let them have it.
MonTrell (21:12)
He really does.
He did not take his foot off of their neck. Not one veto competition. Then he say, eh, I don't really want to win.
Brandi (21:18)
Right.
Please
MonTrell (21:23)
didn't say it once! He didn't say it once! Mind you, everybody doesn't even play Vito. So the fact that he won so many, like, is insane. yeah, I... So this is my mistake. Every season, I do give bias to Texas and Houston people. I do, always. Like, I do. As I should, honestly.
Brandi (21:24)
Yeah, yeah, he just did what needed to be done.
Yeah.
Okay, as you should.
Yeah.
MonTrell (21:48)
I did
not give him that same bias. And you know, maybe it'll outcome around, but right now, first impressions, I'm like, I don't know. Like, I think he'll either be one of those people who just really don't know how to. No, I take that back. He gives like, he knows the game. He gives, he knows the strategy. He gives, he practices. But like, you have to.
Brandi (21:51)
What?
Mm-hmm.
MonTrell (22:14)
know how to use that. Like coming in and then like getting thrown into these group of people is not like getting thrown into Texas. Like I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. I feel like time and time again my Houston people either come through or fail tremendously. And he on my lower end of people that I'm like, I don't know if he's gonna come through or not. Like I don't know.
Brandi (22:21)
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, true.
Okay, so let me give you something to think about. Come hold my hand, hold my hand. So I feel like a lot of people get in the house and they start ⁓ operating ⁓ emotionally, right? Like they get into these friendships and these alliances and these finals too super quick and then it's an emotional game, right?
MonTrell (22:41)
Okay. Okay.
Brandi (22:59)
The one thing that I like about him, he's like, I'm a straight science guy. I like science. I like all this other kind of stuff. So he's strategic. Like, he's thinking strategically anyway. He's thinking about facts and data and numbers. He's not thinking on emotion, right? So I feel like if he pairs himself with the right person socially, bomb duo.
MonTrell (23:06)
Hmm.
Right.
⁓ Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Brandi (23:25)
And I don't know who that is now because you have to see how they interact. And I don't know who his social person is. But yeah.
MonTrell (23:27)
I was just about to ask, but
I think if you could pick somebody off of his cast and maybe this segues into what we feel about them, but the person who you think might just give you that social equivalent that would take him far or farther, who would it be?
Brandi (23:47)
hands down, Jimmy, hands down, Jimmy. I like Jimmy. There's something about Jimmy. is, I love them. There was a connection there. And then let me tell you, Jimmy is going to be a person to watch socially. And you can tell that because he referenced Frankie Grande. And so,
MonTrell (23:48)
Jamie. Okay.
Brandi (24:07)
anybody who could connect with Frankie Grande, they bring in over the topness. They bring in the heat, the drama, and I'm here for it. I think so.
MonTrell (24:17)
And he's the
DC one. So I'm going to rep a little bit. He's He's from DC, you know, whatever. ⁓ And I think coming in, there are a lot of optics. You could not be... I'm in tech. I'm in entertainment. There are optics and politics in every industry. being in whatever industry you're in and being in DC...
Brandi (24:22)
Absolutely.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
MonTrell (24:45)
as a layer that like nobody ever understands until you're there there. Like in DC, you don't have to be a lawyer or a politician or whatever to be in the mix of the optics of everything. Like everything is an optical lens that you have to look through and like be on the right side of. So he knows that and I feel like being here, wanting to play Big Brother, I think he's going to play, he's going to play hard, he's going to play
Brandi (25:01)
Yeah.
Yeah.
MonTrell (25:13)
fast
but he will play well and so I am rooting for him. think who's one person that played hard and fast quickly like a okay grain of salt but like a Cody Cody like Cody won the first H.O. no no not like that but Cody would win the first H.O.H. I give Jimmy I think would try to win the first H.O.H. Cody won the first H.O.H. then won the show so like that's what kind of
Brandi (25:16)
Okay.
Okay.
⁓
Okay.
Gotcha.
MonTrell (25:40)
play hard, play fast, but play well that I mean. And I don't know if his counterpart would be Adrian or not, but if it is, he just needs one real person and one good person, and preferably one person on the opposite side of the house that he can really like. They can have each other's back. I see it, I see it.
Brandi (25:48)
⁓
But if you
think about it, if you think about it, the more that you were talking, the more I saw the whole Adrian and ⁓ Jimmy dynamic working well, right? Because when Jimmy was talking and they were introducing him and everything like that, it was more so I got, again, he referenced Frankie, but I got J.C. Do you remember J.C.? He was the little guy. ⁓
MonTrell (26:08)
Jimmy.
Little guy? Yes.
Brandi (26:27)
but he was socially there, right? And I feel like that's his realm. And so Adrian, and they would, people wouldn't even put those two together. Why would you put them together? You see what I'm saying? So that can work. But one thing that I think that you hit on, which kind of segues into the next person, is living in a place where it kind of prepares you for the house, right? So that goes to Vince. Vincent's from New York.
MonTrell (26:29)
yet.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Thank you.
Okay.
Okay.
Brandi (26:56)
And
funny enough, he's unemployed. And I think that is going to do him so much, like, so much good things this season, because all he had time to do is look at other seasons, look at other episodes. He had time to study. Think about it. He literally had the time to speak.
MonTrell (27:07)
family.
Bye!
Brandi (27:22)
Unintentional zing, but...
MonTrell (27:24)
Why is that our first zing?
Brandi (27:27)
unintentional zinc but I feel like because he's unemployed he had time to study he talks a really good game already and so for me it's just gonna be like okay how does he back this up but I also feel like socially he's going to be a little like are you gonna give people the ick or are you going to
MonTrell (27:35)
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Brandi (27:49)
Use your knowledge of being in New York and being in that melting pot of people to navigate other people.
MonTrell (27:57)
Right. I think you hit the nail in the
head with it's either going to be I like you a lot, I think I connect with you, I think you're personable, or it's going to get ick real bad. And me personally, remember I said like I'm playing, I'm watching like I'm playing.
Brandi (28:10)
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
MonTrell (28:15)
I
did not try to talk to Vince as the first like if he was if the first week I I was hesitant to talk to Vince I talked to everybody else pretty much Vince I was scared the mustache kind of scares me I said hold on he might he might jump he might jump out at you I don't know ⁓ no but
Brandi (28:25)
Yeah.
Gotcha.
But you know who will jump out at you though? Ava. ⁓
MonTrell (28:42)
⁓ god!
Brandi (28:43)
Zing. ⁓
MonTrell (28:45)
She, if there was ever a definition of wild card, A-V-A, wild card, wild card, 100%. I don't know what you're thinking right now, but I do have very much 50-50. Like I have nothing to say, 50-50 wild card. That's my impression.
Brandi (28:50)
Yes. Yes. Yes. Okay.
I like the people who come in there with good energy, with good like they come in there on some own a whole nother like hippie, holistic, I walk in the grass with my shoes off type of vibe, right? Those are my people. However, Ava was a little weird for me. Ava was a little weird for me. I think that
MonTrell (29:10)
Mm-mm.
Uh huh. I know.
Yes. Yes.
Brandi (29:34)
I don't have anything to say. I think she is... I always feel like Big Brother puts somebody who doesn't know a lot about Big Brother, who's not gonna do real socially, who's not gonna do well strategically, and let's see how they work out. That's Ava this year. That is totally her.
MonTrell (29:46)
Mm-hmm.
Right. That is 100 % She
gonna pull out her crystal out of her hat and she is going, I don't know. I'm scared. But I feel like this isn't the... Like this is 100 % a typical Big Brother cast but I think she fits well enough to... Because they're all weird. Or they're all like... Even their jocks. I don't think that their jocks are just the jockiest like...
Brandi (30:10)
Yeah.
huh.
MonTrell (30:21)
like ⁓ what's it called? Baywatch guys. Like I don't think, don't, they don't give that. They just give ⁓ Meathead. And so I was using the word Meathead because it didn't give like, ooh, look at that person. It just gave, ⁓ okay. So like, I can see it, but like Ava being put in it, it's like, aw, like she's not like,
Brandi (30:27)
Yeah.
Yeah, I can see it!
MonTrell (30:49)
and a weird quirky, and a weird quirky like, if I was in the house, I had a conversation with Ava. She was one of the first people I talked to and was like, hey, like what's your name?
Brandi (30:50)
No. No!
Okay, okay, okay.
MonTrell (31:05)
Just to see like
what you want, like what's your vibe?
Brandi (31:08)
Okay, so speaking of vibes, the other person that like I haven't caught a vibe from I'm not riding his wave right now is Will. I am rooting for him from jump. ⁓ But, it's like, ⁓ what you gonna do? What we gonna do with you?
MonTrell (31:26)
I don't know. I don't know. I don't-
And
you know what? I feel like it's trauma for me because Angela, like, I feel like every season the older person traumatizes more and more. Clifton, Angela, like the list goes on. They just are so like either out there or like just so.
Brandi (31:43)
Okay, yeah. Yeah.
MonTrell (31:55)
What are we doing? What are you doing? Like, what are you doing? But they always come in, so I'm ready to show them that old people can do it too. And then, we either don't hear from you, or we hear from you too much. So it's like, that's the only thing the older cast members give. And I'm scared, because now we got a black man who I'm rooting for. And I'm scared he's just going to either be like, these kids are weird. Or.
Brandi (32:02)
Ha!
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
MonTrell (32:22)
You're gonna
be like, I'm about to run all over them. I'm a military, ⁓ which you can't do that either. So I don't know. I'm rooting, but I'm rooting quietly. I'm like.
Brandi (32:27)
Yeah, absolutely.
And I agree, I'm rooting but I'm rooting quietly because you're right, I agree with everything that you said and I feel like...
he is either going to, especially like with the old people, they very much on brand episode three, four, they start missing their family. They start, remember they start crying or going on the block because they miss their family so much. And then they're like, I can't do it. And are they float to the very, to right before jury. So either way, it's like, why are you here? So I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope he does something good.
MonTrell (32:54)
YES!
Brandi (33:11)
He surprises us. I hope he surprises us.
MonTrell (33:14)
hope so too. Now speaking of why are you here? ⁓
Brandi (33:21)
Hmm. ⁓
I feel a zine coming.
MonTrell (33:25)
Amy girl, what you doing here? What are you doing here, girl?
Brandi (33:31)
Not too much! Not too much! Not too much!
MonTrell (33:36)
Girl,
what are you doing here? Where did you come from is what I really wanna ask. And why are you here? ⁓ I don't know. If there was one person I was just like, huh. It wouldn't be Ava, it would be Amy. huh, they picked you. They picked you.
Brandi (33:38)
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So for me, she automatically got a win. She automatically got a pass because she's a single mom. She's a single mom of three. So ⁓ she's invited to the cookout. She's coming. So I'm voting for her from jump right now just off the fact that she's a single mom. However, I'm like, girl.
MonTrell (34:02)
which I love.
hear you. Anger PFing concert?
Brandi (34:23)
Girl... Girl...
MonTrell (34:25)
Like, I don't know.
Brandi (34:26)
However, I do feel that, you know, single moms have a tenacity, single moms have a tough skin and a grit about them that if they put their mind to something, they're gonna do it. So I hope she comes in there not trying to keep up with the younger girls and know that she's in her own lane, in her own lane ain't these little boys. Keep her mind focused.
MonTrell (34:39)
Right.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Brandi (34:54)
and bring home that money for her kids. So.
MonTrell (34:56)
I
I agree about that. And I think maybe it's trauma for me again because last season when I tell you ⁓
Brandi (35:01)
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
MonTrell (35:05)
If there was almost nobody I was rooting harder for than Brooklyn, the mom of three or the mom of how many ever, and she was from Texas and see, she was another one or she was from the South at least not maybe not from Texas, but she was from the South, not a single mom, but a mom like, and she was like, I'm here to show y'all like I get down and she didn't do nothing. ⁓
Brandi (35:14)
Yeah.
And she got God.
MonTrell (35:33)
Mind you, I did my research on her and she applied like six, seven times and finally got on. And I was like, you know what? That's a crazy, like, I think she made a TikTok and it was like the first time I applied, the second time I applied, the third time I applied, the fourth. And she showed a clips of all her videos. And then she's like, I finally got on my fourth try or whatever. To go on and do nothing and to talk as much cash money stuff that she did. ⁓
Brandi (35:59)
Absolutely.
MonTrell (35:59)
I'm like,
⁓ every time people have that, I need something different now. So I
Brandi (36:03)
Yeah.
But here's
the thing, I was not a Brooklyn fan last year. feel like you were a Brooklyn fan. I feel like your mom liked Brooklyn a little bit. Ania liked Brooklyn a little bit. ⁓ But I was never a Brooklyn fan. She rubbed me the wrong way. Yes, Ania is her daughter, is my daughter. Yes.
MonTrell (36:11)
I do know this.
Anaya is her daughter, by the way. No.
Brandi (36:30)
⁓ I was never a Brooklyn fan, but I don't get those vibes. The vibes I do get from Amy is girl, you should have let your lip filler sit a little bit longer before you took your pictures. The zing in that is that she should have, because that first picture that they showed of her, they did her dirty. They did her dirty. But girl, you gonna win that money and you gonna shut all that up. So we good.
MonTrell (36:47)
Scary. Scary.
I'm gonna fix all
that up with your 750,000 right.
Brandi (36:59)
Absolutely! Zeke!
MonTrell (37:02)
thing on that. ⁓
But then we go into the more like real, who I feel. Okay, if there was an it girl of the season that I'm hoping for, right? They don't need to do much, but has everything. Morgan. I'm rooting for Morgan. I love her. She is so beautiful. think she's a model, but she also has
Brandi (37:17)
huh.
Yeah.
MonTrell (37:29)
I think a decent personality that might take her far enough if she's not trying too hard. so the thing about modeling, like, depending on the type that she does, as a model, you're a canvas. So like, there are people that make the themes for you. They make the, they pick the outfits for you. They do the makeup for you. They do the hair for you. You come, you show up, you show up as yourself and you pop your stuff just doing you.
Brandi (37:41)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
MonTrell (37:56)
If she can come in, be a pretty girl that has a little bit of smarts and do that, she could turn into a... Why did I lose her name? Mackenzie. A pretty girl who can go off of relationships pretty much the whole game. I whenever you need to lock in and win, I think she also has the athleticism to be able to...
Brandi (37:56)
Yeah.
⁓ yeah.
MonTrell (38:21)
Lock in and win a couple POVs if she needed to. Win the HOH, maybe on accident, maybe on purpose, but win. Like, I'm rooting for Morgan down.
Brandi (38:28)
Yeah.
So it's funny that you say that because I like Morgan. I like her a lot. I knew you were going to like her because she's a model. And I liked her because she was a gamer. And so I feel like, yeah, I feel like that is such a...
MonTrell (38:39)
Yes! That was amazing!
Like you're balanced, right? You're balanced. Yeah.
Brandi (38:46)
Yi Yang? Yeah, there's a balance to that. Yeah.
And so I feel like knowing how to model, knowing how to game, I feel like that's gonna take her a long way in the game. And so as long as she...
MonTrell (39:00)
Mm-hmm.
Brandi (39:03)
You know, I always worry about with the pretty girls, the girls who come in there and be mean girls and like who try to just like rely on their looks and stuff, which the gamer aspect of her, I don't think she will, but I just don't want that for her. I want her to go in there and do it because that also segues into the other girl that I'm rooting for. I am totally rooting for Catherine. The fine dining waitress.
MonTrell (39:26)
Okay.
huh.
Brandi (39:30)
She is she's cute. She's a little cutie. She is ⁓ She has some spunk to her you can tell she has some sass to her and she's not just a pretty face And I will say I feel like the high dining ⁓ Like restaurant life There is strategy to that there is gaming to that there is faking the funk to that there is making sure that you get your tip goal at the end of the night and then
MonTrell (39:40)
Uh-huh.
Mm-hmm. You know what? You know what? Mm-hmm.
Brandi (39:58)
turn it at all. Hello! Just a little razzle.
MonTrell (39:59)
and a little extra on top too. Yeah. You know what? You know
what? I had a first impression about her, but you changed my mind about it. Because truly, truly, I was like, if there was anybody that was going to be on this season, it was Katherine. Like, Katherine, she, look, she did her interview and they said, yeah, we want her. They said, we're going to put her in the interview room.
Brandi (40:17)
Yeah.
Yeah.
MonTrell (40:25)
We know she's gonna make it. We gonna send her on her way. She's gonna be on this, like the first person. there was production, if you're seeing this, tell me that Catherine wasn't y'all's first yes of this 16.
Brandi (40:28)
Right. Yeah.
Okay, so I'm gonna I'm gonna counter you on that though, because you know who their automatic first yes was? Lauren has to be Lauren is one she's the final houseguest that we're discussing, but she is America sweetheart. She's a bridal consultant. She is from Louisiana. She is a like she is a southern girl. She is a cute girl. Tell me production didn't be like
MonTrell (40:43)
Who?
⁓ okay.
Okay.
Yes. Yeah.
Yes. Yes.
Brandi (41:05)
Woo, her first.
MonTrell (41:06)
Between the two of them, yes. Lauren, and I like Lauren. So I think maybe it's southern part of it. Maybe she just looks familiar-ish. Lauren is a cute, like, bridal consultant means like, you're a, like, all these people.
Brandi (41:09)
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.
MonTrell (41:28)
The people who have those sales things or those people skills, like you're saying with Katherine and the fine dining, bridal consultant, you kind of got to be a girl's girl. So all of them girls, she got the girls on lock and she don't even know it yet or she does know it, but I know it. She has the girls on lock. Bridal consultant, can talk, these, she asks probably people random questions like, have you ever planned out your wedding?
Brandi (41:31)
Yes, yes.
Yeah.
Yes!
MonTrell (41:54)
I feel like girls bond over stuff like that. Like, what? I can help you, girl. Be my friend, and I got you. Like, what? They on her head.
Brandi (41:58)
Yeah. You know,
so here's the thing, you are absolutely right. A writer consultant is a girl's girl all the way through. You know what I'm saying? And you're right. She's a salesperson. So she's going to sell it and she's going to bring it home. The only thing I don't want is her to be.
And it's not that I don't want it, right? I want it to happen later because I'm totally, you know me, I am totally not against so mances. It just needs to happen later. Right. But I just don't want her to get in there first day and be like, ⁓ I'm in love. No, girl. Shut up. No, we're here for this money. Get this money and then get out and then and then catch some feelings. Don't catch feelings in the house. Yeah.
MonTrell (42:30)
I'm going home.
Mm-mm. Yeah.
I agree. Anybody
that comes in that house on day one and does that, whatever my opinion was in this episode, I promise you it will change because I do not like that. Like you're not here to play the game and play big ranger if you are like, I love him or I love her. Y'all, y'all, come on.
Brandi (43:00)
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, so after we've gone over all of the new houseguests, I want to know preseason calls. You ready? Who's your winner prediction?
MonTrell (43:14)
Mm-hmm
Mm-hmm.
Look, last season I did get it right. Because I said Chelsea. I was Chelsea from day one. Chelsea day one and Chelsea came through. So I'm scared about this season because I don't feel that way about any of them. But if I had to pick a person. this is hard!
Brandi (43:26)
Did you?
Are you serious? ⁓ baby, that was not me.
Uh-huh.
MonTrell (43:45)
You go first you go first. I don't know cuz I really don't like any of them enough for that
Brandi (43:45)
Hehehehehe!
Really? Okay.
Okay, so for me, it's gonna be Jimmy. Yeah, for me, it's gonna be Jimmy.
MonTrell (43:56)
Jimmy, okay. Okay.
You know what? If I have to pick someone, I'm going to swallow my tongue and I'm going to pick Zach.
Brandi (44:08)
Okay, I can see it. I can see that. I'll give you that. Okay, so next one. First boot. Who's going home? Week one.
MonTrell (44:16)
Okay, if I have to look at these pictures and be like, they're probably not gonna care about you too much. They might still in will home.
Brandi (44:19)
Yeah.
MonTrell (44:25)
They might just go home, just because. I think.
Brandi (44:25)
Okay. Okay. That's
so funny. We're so opposite because let me tell you, I think it's Eva. Send her home. Let her go chase these auras at home. Like send her home.
MonTrell (44:37)
Have they ever,
think about it, have they ever sent like a positive energy good aura rockin' crystal girl home first? No! They love that! They love, yeah, they want them to do a reading on them and everything, like. ⁓
Brandi (44:44)
No? No? Yeah, you're right.
Yeah,
you're right. You're right. Because like from last year, Rubina was that person. Rubina was the one who came in with that good energy. She made it a lot down. But guess what? I still follow her to this day. And like she's probably one of my like favorite people on Instagram. Yeah. Yeah. So okay, so. So next one. You ready? wild card player. Who do you think is going to shock you this season?
MonTrell (45:00)
Like, yeah.
Really?
And that's where we're completely opposite. Ava. Ava! Ava is gonna come in and be like, y'all thought it was sweet? Y'all thought it was sweet over here? I don't know who told you that. Yes, I have a sunflower on my hat. Yes, I give positive vibes, but that don't mean I won't check you. And like in the nicest way. I'm here for Ava.
Brandi (45:22)
UGH!
Okay. Okay.
MonTrell (45:42)
Who do think?
Brandi (45:43)
Okay, so my wild card player is Adrian. That's our next door neighbor, our San Antonio. And like he, I think he's gonna be the wild card. I think he is going to shake up this season. And I just, I don't know how, I don't know how, ⁓ but I think he is going to pull it out of the hat. I, I so do. Okay. So we've already kind of talked about it a little bit and I know you hate it.
MonTrell (45:55)
Mm-hmm. I don't, right?
Yeah. Okay.
Brandi (46:07)
But if you can name the show mances this year, which ones do you think they're gonna be? This year is gonna be a year of show mances.
MonTrell (46:14)
I think so too, honestly I don't get it because I don't think any of them are like cute enough for that but I like yes and no like I think Zach
Brandi (46:20)
Really?
MonTrell (46:24)
We'll have a show man's with maybe like a Morgan, which plays into me liking Morgan, me thinking Morgan will be a good game player, me thinking Zach is going to be a good game player, and then maybe going far together. But I think that's just me putting two pretty people together, honestly, two pretty people and two like good strategy people together, I think. I also think that.
Brandi (46:36)
Okay.
Okay.
MonTrell (46:45)
Riley might try to go for a country girl. he might pull a... I don't think Kelly. I do think maybe like a Katherine. Not a Kelly, but maybe like a Katherine. Like a Katherine, I could see a Riley Katherine like, oh, she's a sweet, she looks like a country girl. She's not a country girl. And you know, she's gonna put the charm on and she's gonna be like, yeah, why not? And then I think Adrienne's gonna flirt.
Brandi (46:51)
No, absolutely not TJ.
⁓ yeah.
Okay.
MonTrell (47:10)
but he's not gonna have his showments. And then there's Zay, who I think if he chose somebody, it'd be like a Lauren.
Brandi (47:12)
Okay.
Okay.
Really? Baby, we are so opposite. Okay, so here are my predictions. My predictions are a little funny. But if we're going to start with Zach, I think Zach is going to love him some lorin.
MonTrell (47:31)
Okay, that was my other option. Yes.
Brandi (47:34)
are on the flip side. Just think about it TJ, just think about it. Mickey. I just, and you just came off of the whole love island thing, right? So the Nick and Elandria thing, like it can happen. It can happen. It can happen. Okay, wait, wait, wait. I'm not done. I'm not done. I think.
MonTrell (47:39)
Okay.
Thanks
Hello.
Brandi (47:56)
It is going to be Zay and Katherine. And then I can see Riley and I could totally see like Riley and Katherine as well. And then I think Adrian is going to try to like hit puberty in there. So he'll flirt.
MonTrell (47:59)
Okay. Okay.
Mm-hmm.
Z like what
he's like 26
Brandi (48:25)
That was not supposed to be in Zeke, but he is. I feel like he's going to try to his own. There's too many pretty women in there. He ain't never been around all that. He gonna try to, you know, cuddle, be the big spoon, whatever, whatever. He ain't gonna get no play. I feel like whoever, whoever gives some play. So whether that is I get to kind of see the Lauren.
MonTrell (48:27)
But, and that's your boy, huh? And that's your boy, right?
Yeah.
With who? With who? Who says choice?
Okay. Okay.
Okay, go try.
Brandi (48:51)
I can
see him going after the pretty girl, like the really pretty girls like Ashley, Lauren, ⁓ Catherine. I feel like they can bite and be like, you know what, he's a good guy. He's different than all the rest, which is a lie, but you know.
MonTrell (48:57)
I'm... I'm...
Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And he
is like, he does seem like a sweet kid, but that's exactly what he seems like, a sweet kid. So, yeah, okay. I don't hate your pairings. I think they also make sense. I think literally with this cast and with every cast, it's a... A...
Brandi (49:10)
Yeah.
Okay. Okay.
huh.
MonTrell (49:25)
like paper in a bucket pic. Cause who would have ever thought like Derek and Claire, like what? Huh? Who would ever talk to and Rubina? Tucker and Rubina, ain't they still together?
Brandi (49:32)
That's That's true. Baby.
Can I just say, can I just say I love me some of them. They are still together. They are so in love. They are, they are so cute. And that's because, you know, I'm a Tuckers. Damn. So.
MonTrell (49:39)
Let's do it again.
There's another- I
know you are. gosh. There's another one. There's another- ⁓ I love them.
Brandi (49:54)
Yeah, I am. But even Bailey, but even Bailey in, ⁓
my gosh, Swaggy C. Yeah.
MonTrell (50:03)
Waggy.
I love
Brandi (50:08)
Yeah.
MonTrell (50:08)
yeah, we'll
probably have to go down a whole Showman segment probably later in the season to see like, who maybe this season Showman says kind of reminds you of and like, we'll probably do that. You know?
